AVAILABLE DOGS -
Please understand that not every dog is perfect for every individual/family which is why we may ask even more questions than on the application. Sometimes the dog you may want is not the dog suitable for your situation.  We want the adoption to be a happy and permanent one for both you and the dog. At this time we do not adopt out of state but may make an exception for a special needs dog. Being a new and small rescue we do not have the resources to do  out of state home visits and follow ups. All our dogs are in foster homes and are evaluated for temperament, heartworm tested, vaccinated, microchipped and spay/neuter before being adopted to their new home. Thank you for considering a rescue dog.

Lady Emma -Female Boxer x 4 yrs old.  Emma is a sweet girl that would love to have a family of her own. She gets along with cats and most dogs. She likes to play in the yard and is very affectionate. She has been with us for quite sometime because she gets overlooked at adoptions when compared to a purebred Boxer. Won't you consider this wonderful dog to add to your family? Please email Inquiries@RockysBoxerRescue.org for more information.
Adoption fee $150

Nala is a young purebred female Boxer. DOB 6/11/06 -
She did have some aggression to other dogs but was sent to the Atlanta Dog Whisperer for two weeks which worked miracles for her! She would get along best with a male dog. Nala needs to be exercised daily as she has a lot of energy. She also needs an owner that will be the pack leader and has experience with strong willed dogs and the Boxer personality. A complimentary session with Angie Woods, the Atlanta Dog Whisperer, is a requirement for adopting this great dog. She is still young and will eventually calm down more with the right home and discipline. If you want more information about Nala please send an email to inquiries@RockysBoxerRescue.org
Adoption fee $250

Cooper is a purebred male brindle Boxer. DOB 12/27/07. He is in a foster home and working on house breaking and basic commands. He gets along with other dogs. He will need someone who can spend time with him for training and exercise. Boxers are not outside dogs and need lots of attention. They need to be a part of the family. This is what his foster home says about him: He is 85% housebroken. He gets a little anxious going outside. For now, he needs you to stay out with him till he does both, as he is concerned you won't let him back in. I am working on crating and he is up to 2 hours. Again the important thing is you are coming back, so I am taking it slow. Goes from 11pm to 7am without an accident in the kitchen with a gate as long as you make sure he has actually gone to the bathroom that last time (and of course no food and water). He needs someone who is laid back, patient and understanding enough to work through this and he is going to be great. I think the previous owners may have expected him to achieve too much too soon, or it may just be his personality . He does great with all the dogs (and has bonded with Sierra). I think it's important he has a dog buddy. His confidence takes a beating if he is alone too long. If interested in Cooper please send email to Inquiries@RockysBoxerRescue.org Adoption fee $350

Maddie is a purebred female brindle Boxer. She was born 7/22/07. She is housebroken, crate trained and is learning basic commands and how to walk well on a leash - thanks to her foster home! She is still a puppy and will need exercise daily. If interested in Maddie please send an email to Inquiries@RockysBoxerRescue.org. Adoption fee $350

Mischa is a purebred flashy brindle Boxer. DOB 5/06. This girl was adopted from our rescue last September. I got a phone call recently that someone had found her and they took her to the vet to scan her microchip. After several unsuccessful attempts to reach her owner she is now being fostered and is available for adoption. I did find out from the owner's vet that she gave her to someone else which is a breach of our contract. I am just thankful that someone found her before she got hurt or starved. Mischa is very sweet and playful once she warms up to you. A fenced yard is recommended for Mischa.
Adoption fee $250

Buffy is a mixed breed puppy. DOB 6/07.  Approx 12 lbs. She is crate trained, not sure if she is housebroken yet.  She is in a foster home and is learning basic commands and how to walk on a leash. For more information on this cute little girl please send an email to Inquiries@RockysBoxerRescue.org.

Wanda is a 1 year old Dachshund mix who is people and dog friendly. She is a little cautious with men but is very loving once she gets to know you. She is in great health and ready for her forever home! She needs a refresher course on potty training, but she is crate trained. Adoption fee $125

Max is a purebred American Cocker Spaniel. He is about 5 yrs old and is a perfect gentleman. If you are familiar with this breed than you will know that most are plagued with ear problems and skin problems. Max is no exception. He is on medication and will be need to be rechecked regularly once a month until it clears up. He would prefer a quiet home and someone to play ball with him. He is house broken, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations and heartworm prevention. If you are interested in Max please send an email to Inquiries@RockysBoxerRescue.org. Adoption Fee $175

Livingston is a 10 mth old Boxer puppy that was an owner surrender to our rescue. He has a severe case of Demodex Mange, secondary skin infection and is extremely underweight. His feet were so swollen from the infection that he could barely walk. I had to carry him out to go potty. What is a shame is that if this had been treated properly at the beginning he would not have gotten this bad. Because he is so young the vet feels he has a chance to make a good recovery but the hair on his face may never come back. He will be with us for a long time and will receive the best care possible. If you would like to make a donation to help cover his medications or special food it would be greatly appreciated! This puppy is why I do what I do!
4/25 UPDATE: This boy is doing remarkable considering what he went through in the first few months of his young life. He has put on weight and his skin is starting to heal. He still has a long way to go but at least he is playful and happy now. 5/4/08 - A lot of LIvingston hair has fallen out but that's so he can grow a beautiful new coat. Please see the second pciture for an update on how he looks. His skin is no longer hard and crusty and he is getting some hair on his face. He is having fun playing and running around the yard as his feet don't hurt so much anymore.

5-15-08 Livingston is doing great and his hair is starting to grow back!!! I call it peach fuzz right now but it is a good sign that he is healing.

Sadie - Purebred Female Boxer DOB 2/22/07 -This  girl  was kept outside most of her young life and  has also been diagnosed with meningitis.  When she was spayed and returned to the foster home her system went into shock and had to be taken to the emergency vet.  After she recovered from that ordeal she was doing fine but then got into a bottle of Advil which prompted another visit to the emergency vet.  She  went into renal failure and we almost lost her. She spent a week  at the vets but is back home now and doing much better. This poor girl has been through so much and yet she is the sweetest Boxer you could ever meet.  She is on Prednisone for her meningitis and will have to be for some time. The vet is hoping that eventually she can be weaned off  of  it without any ill effect.
Sadie is available for adoption to a home that is willing to monitor her condition.
Adoption fee $250

All these dogs are going to require expensive medical care.  Lincoln's Heartworm treament will be about $300+ and Dexter's surgery was over $500. Sadie's visits to the emergency vet has exceeded $600 and then another $500 for the days she was at out vets.

We are a small rescue with limited funds so if you can spare a few dollars to help these dogs  it would be greatly appreciated. To donate please go to the homepage for the Paypal link or mailing address.
