Meredith Emerson & Ella 5/07 Ella at Meredith's Memorial Service 1/11/08
She was an animal lover who treated friends' pets as her own. Even her faithful dog Ella couldn't be left out of the memorial— she was waiting in a garden outside the chapel, tail wagging as Emerson's friends lined up.
Meredith Emerson adopted Ella from Rocky's Boxer Rescue in March 2007. When Meredith met her new companion she was excited to take her new puppy home.
A hike in memory of Meredith Emerson was held at Meeks Park in Blairsville.

ROCKY 06/01/03 - 07/16/07
A few
words about Rocky
7/17/07 - Last night at 9pm Rocky laid
down in Donna's arms and passed away. You feel so helpless and insignificant at
a moment like this. Trying everything you know, but powerless to stop the
inevitable. We knew when we adopted Rocky that due to his health problems he
most likely would have a short life. Even thought you know in the back of your
mind that this day would eventually come, It does not make it any easier.
It didn't matter if you were having the worst day ever, when Rocky put his head
on your lap and looked up at you all those troubles just seem to melt away. It
is real hard to believe that when we come home he won't be at the door waiting
to greet us. He gave unconditional love to you and asked for nothing in return
except maybe a pat on his head. It is a real sad day here at
Rocky's Boxer Rescue. As I write these words and look out the window at
the rain coming down it seems the whole world has a tear in it's eye for such a
great dog.
